One roster for each class you teach

For a weekly tutoring group or several school classes, start with a separate group for each roster. A single organizer can take attendance; co-teachers can join later if you need help.

Example check types you can create

  • Present
  • Absent
  • Late
  • Early departure
  • Excused

A workflow for your next session

01

Prepare a class roster and check types

Create a group for one class before adding its students. Each group keeps its own roster and check types, so an evening tutoring class can use different labels from a daytime class.

  1. Create a group with a name you can recognize, such as Tuesday class.
  2. Add student names directly, import contacts, or import an Excel roster using the app's template.
  3. Add check types such as Present, Late, or Excused. Choose names and colors that the people taking roll call will understand.

02

Record attendance during the lesson

Open the class group and choose the date you are recording. Swipe a student's name to apply a configured check type, or use the multiple-edit flow when several students need the same status.

  1. Configure the swipe actions for the statuses you use most often.
  2. Record late arrivals or early departures with the appropriate check type. Add a note when a record needs context.
  3. Review the roster before moving on. If you want to record times automatically, turn on the group's time setting.

Review the period and export an Excel file

Use the statistics view to review the saved attendance by period and member. When you need a file for your own report or a conversation about a student's attendance, export the records for the relevant dates.

  1. Open the group's statistics and select the period you want to review.
  2. In More, choose Export data (AD), then set the date range. This flow can show a rewarded ad before opening the export screen.
  3. Create the .xlsx file and choose where to save or share it. The export includes separate attendance, member, and daily memo sheets.

Questions before you start

Do students need to create accounts?

No. An organizer can create a roster and record attendance without every student signing up. Member accounts are optional for the basic roll-call workflow.

Can I share the class roster with a co-teacher?

Yes. The group owner can add another organizer as an Editor to manage the same group. Viewer access is available for someone who only needs to review records.

Can I use labels other than Present and Absent?

Yes. Create your own check types, including Late, Early departure, Excused, or Online class. Each type can have its own name and color.

Is Attendable free, including Excel export?

The mobile app is free and contains ads. The export entry in More is marked (AD) and can show a rewarded ad before you open the export screen. Records are exported as an .xlsx file.
